My teaching philosophy is centered around the idea that we are all gifted storytellers in our very nature. I believe that access to storytelling and photography can enrich both our daily lives and our long-term memories.
Visual literacy skills help us feel confident in having agency over our own stories. We can then further extend this skillset and sense of purpose towards the stories of our communities and environment. I believe in the necessity of investing in a new future of photography, with greater access for all, and therefore teaching is a central part of my artistic practice as a photographer.
